Ingredients

Imperial | Metric | USA
  • 250g butter (melted)
  • 100ml oil
  • 100ml vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 300g self raising flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven 180C/Gas 4/fan oven 160C. Mix the butter, oil, vinegar, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add enough flour to form a soft dough.

Step 2

Roll out to 1cm thickness and cut out desired shaped with biscuit cutters. Put on a baking sheet.

Step 3

Brush the shortbread's tops with beaten egg yolk. Sprinkle the sesame. Bake for 20 minutes.
