Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup butter (softened)
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ¾ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 175ºC / 350ºF / Gas Mark 4 and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
Step 3
In a large bowl (or electric mixer with paddle attachment), combine the butter, white sugar and brown sugar. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy.
Step 4
Reduce speed to low and add the egg, vanilla and salt. Beat for 1 minute.
Step 5
Add the flour mixture (about 1/2 cup at a time) and mix just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
Step 6
Drop spoonfuls of dough about 5mc (2") apart on baking sheets. Sprinkle a pinch of kosher salt on top of each cookie.
Step 7
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool for 2 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.
