Directions

Step 1

Put the bananas into a bowl with the lemon juice. Mash until smooth.

Stir in the honey, yoghurt and hazelnuts.

Beat well.

Step 2

Banana mixture, partially frozen in a freezer container.

Whip the cream until it forms soft peaks, then fold it into the banana mixture.

Transfer the mixture to a freezer container, cover and freeze until partially set.

Step 3

Honeyed banana ice cream with hazelnuts, ready to be served.

Whisk the egg whites until stiff.

Beat the banana mixture to break up the ice crystals, then fold in the egg whites and freeze until firm.

    This looks and sounds just wonderful! I think adding honey and hazelnuts to simple banana ice cream is brilliant and must zing up the flavor! Love too that you didn't use a machine! Maybe I can make it now.

Would you tweak this recipe? If so, how?

e.g. Add half a chopped onion, use less butter, shake not stir...
