Ingredients

Imperial | Metric | USA
  • 10oz semi sweet chocolate (Preferably Ghirardelli Chocolate)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (organic)
  • ½ cup milk (organic)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter (organic)

Directions

Step 1

Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over low heat and stir constantly not to scorch the chocolate.

Step 2

Add the powdered sugar and milk in 3 equal parts, switching off from powdered sugar to milk with constant stirring to make sure there are no clumps and it maintains a smooth consistency.

Step 3

Add the vanilla extract and peanut butter and continue to stir until it is fully incorporated.

Note: You may need to add a bit more milk to whisk in the peanut butter, just add 1 Tablespoon at a time no to thin out the consistency too much.

Step 4

Once everything is mixed in, turn off heat and allow to cool slightly before applying to the layers of the cake and all around the outside of the cake.

If you have tried this chocolate peanut butter frosting recipe, what did you think of it?

e.g. Were the instructions easy to follow, did it taste okay, any disasters?

Would you tweak this chocolate peanut butter frosting recipe? If so, how?

e.g. Add half a chopped onion, use less butter, shake not stir...
