  • 2 avocadoes (ripe)
  • 1 juice lemon
  • 2fl oz tahina
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sumac
  • 1 pinch cumin (ground)
  • 1 pinch cinnamon (ground)
  • 3 cloves garlic (peeled and minced)
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds (toasted)

Directions

Step 1

Peel and pit the avocados and place them in a food processor fitted with a steel blade.

Add the lemon juice and process until smooth.

Add the tahina, garlic, and spices and process until combined.

Step 2

Use the funnel of the food processor to slowly add the olive oil drop by drop until the mixture thickens and becomes the consistency.

Step 3

Garnish with black sesame seeds or a sprinkle of sumac.

Step 4

Serve with warm pita.
