We haven't optimised getmecooking.com for touch-screen devices yet (give us time - it is on our to-do list!) but we have optimised it for a screen resolution of 1024x768, which is the same as the Apple iPod (in landscape orientation).

So we would be really interested to know if people are viewing this site on their iPad and reading recipes from it in the kitchen. How are you finding the experience?

One advantage of the iPad (and other state tablet devices) over laptops/netbooks is that they take up a lot less space, so will not get in the way when cooking.

Remember that an official iPad case is available for the iPad - recommended for use in the kitchen as it will keep the iPad upright, however it does not protect the screen. We recommend that you keep the iPad in a protective case while it is in the kitchen. There is a good selection of protective cases on Amazon.

Let us know how you end up using it in the kitchen!

Also, feel free to send us any action shots (iPad in your kitchen, displaying a recipe from this site) that we can post here :-)

Seems to be fine, looks a bit better in Landscape mode.

I'm wondering if putting the iPad on the kitchen cabinet might work better, as it gets it off the work surface (and hence spills).

I'm a beginner cook (cooking when my wife is away) but my iPad is coming next week and I'll be definitely taking it into the kitchen...
