When was the last time you tried a different supermarket?

There are 5 different supermarkets within 5 miles of where I live so why do I only shop at one? You may think of one being the cheapest but after doing a weekly shop at each there really isn’t that much in it. Is one easier to park at? For me they all have plenty of spaces if you go at the right time of day.

I challenge you to try a different supermarket the next time you go food shopping. I have noticed that the food varies greatly if you try the in-store bakery, butchers, fish mongers and deli counter; one even had a shoe repair section.

Sadly there isn’t a store that had the best of everything and so I now pick and choose which I go to depending on what I’m after.

You also need to revisit the stores, one store had the best bread which is now always overcooked but they still do the best cakes.

What are the reasons for where you go shopping?

I like the outdoor markets, because they tend to have the best produce, and since it's an all cash business, toward the end of the day, the vendors tend to lower their prices to move the last of their stocks.

There are 2 large superstores that are convenient for me - one near my office (Sainsbury's) and another near my house (Tesco).

I prefer the one near my office because they seem to have a better selection of food. Plus they have more check-out counters so the service is faster.
