When is a pizza box not just a pizza box?

We all know that companies are being pushed to ‘go green’ with their packaging, by way of using less packaging, using more recycled products and by creating packaging that can be recycled or bio-degradable.

I have come across Green Box which have devised a really simple but obvious idea for pizza boxes. Right now, all pizza boxes are basically the same – you know the type that Dominos Pizza and Pizza Hut use for delivery of pizza. Green Box have creates a number of perforations in that type of box (in the top and bottom lids).

The top lid can be ‘torn’ up into 4 sections which can be used as cardboard plates.

The bottom lid can be folded into a smaller pizza box (perfect to store the pizza that you don’t finish for the next day). As it is smaller, it takes up less space in your refrigerator.

Once used, the entire box can be placed into a bin for disposal – no more having to struggle to fold up the large pizza box and cram it into the bin.

I for one think it would be fantastic if this was the norm, instead of the standard pizza boxes that are currently used.

See the Green Box website for full details.
