THESE PRAWNS WERE THE SIZE OF SMALL LOBSTERS
This was an experience of a lifetime to see how the local fisherman lived in a small village about an hour from Bangkok Thailand. With our private guide, we took a small boat out onto the ocean at low tide where the oyster beds were, as well as women using colanders to dredge for cockles in the shallow water.
The monkeys came out of the forest, babies and all to swim in the water for the bananas we were tossing to them. Very few tourists get the opportunity to visit this village so we were as much on exhibition as they were. It was a sheer delight to photograph all those beautiful faces in the Land of Smiles!
At the end of a perfect day, we were treated to a private seafood FEAST at the top of one of the stilt houses. I almost killed myself getting up to the top but it was worth the treacherous climb as there was so much fresh caught bounty set out to eat that my friend Diana and I could barely make a dent in it!
