If you are using these blogging platforms, you can ignore this step, as they do not require self-hosting:
If you use these blogging platforms, you will need to have your blog hosted (installed) on a web server:
As we mentioned before, we prefer WordPress; but they do all each have their pros and cons. Please see the ‘WordPress Web Hosting’ page for hosting providers that WordPress recommend.
You can move your content between blogs by exporting content from the old one and importing it into the new one. It it not always straight-forward though, especially if you have custom content such as templates. WordPress have an ‘Importing Content’ page which describes how to do this.
